Craig Strang is Co-PI of the IPT Project, focusing on district capacity building and professional learning design. He has co-led many collaborative research projects and multi-institution partnerships. He is Associate Director of Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley and leads the Learning & Teaching Group which builds capacity to improve science, ocean and environmental literacy in formal and informal education systems nationally and internationally. He has worked in partnership with dozens of school districts through the BaySci Project. He is PI of the NSF-funded Working Toward Racial Equity Project that builds on a pilot project, Working Toward Equitable Organizations. He was the lead Principal Investigator of the NSF Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence—California from 2002-2014, and was the first Chair of the National COSEE Council. He is co-chair of the statewide California Environmental Literacy Initiative, and is a founding member and co-chair of the ChangeScale (Bay Area Environmental Education Collective) Steering Committee.
