Guidelines for Creating Follow-Up Session Agendas

Ideally, each follow-up session should include at least 90 minutes for video reflection and 60-90 minutes for planning and sharing. 

Additional time should be spent on any just-in-time needs identified through surveys, and/or any opportunities for classroom observations, coaching sessions, or informal personal communications in between follow-up sessions. 

Although you may encounter different needs, teachers will likely require support in the following ways throughout the school year:

Early Fall: establishing a culture of talk in the classroom, e.g., establishing and reinforcing classroom agreements for discussion, gathering and utilizing formative feedback from students to inform instruction, etc.

Late Fall and Winter: refining the use of various teaching strategies, e.g., use of concept cartoons, making thinking visible during a whole-class discussion, leading an idea line-up or four corners activity, etc. Sample video from a follow-up session activity
