Session 20: Using Argumentation When Designing A Solution
SESSION OVERVIEW
During this session, teachers engage in an engineering design challenge connected to the content of a FOSS® (Full Option Science System) investigation they have just participated in. (Full Option Science System, Next Generation Edition, developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science; Published and Distributed by Delta Education/School Specialty). The Motion & Matter Module is designed for grade 3. After they complete the design challenge and argue for the merit of different solutions, they discuss the teacher focus question: How can we use argumentation to support designing a solution to a problem?
