Session 15: Model Lesson for ELA Convergence
SESSION OVERVIEW
In this session, participants engage in a model FOSS® (Full Option Science System) lesson that uses argumentation strategies and literacy strategies in order to explore the convergence with English Language Arts (ELA). (Full Option Science System, Next Generation Edition, developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science; Published and Distributed by Delta Education/School Specialty.) The Earth and Sun Module is designed for grade 5. Note: This lesson can be replaced with any science lesson that includes literacy strategies that support argumentation, or the context of any of the previous lessons can be used with a focus just on the convergence with English Language Arts (ELA).
